Numerous visitors flock to billion VND orange orchard in Kien Lao

Updated: 11:07, 19/11/2025

BAC NINH - Citrus-growing areas across the northern province of Bac Ninh are entering peak harvest season, drawing large numbers of visitors who come to taste fresh fruit and experience picking activities. Among the most popular sites is the orange orchard owned by Vu Thi Tan in Bang Cong hamlet, Kien Lao commune.

Tan’s family orchard spans more than 4 hectares. Its prime location, adjacent to the Bau Tien Ecotourism Area, offers a distinctive landscape that attracts tourists for sightseeing and fruit-tasting right in the garden.

This year, the orchard is expected to yield about 100 tonnes of oranges, generating an estimated 2.8–3 billion VND (122,000 – 130,000 USD) in revenue from fruit sales and tourism activities. Thanks to intensive cultivation techniques, the trees are heavy with fruit. When ripe, the oranges turn golden yellow, with thin skins, abundant juice and a pleasantly light sweetness.

Tan said her family follows VietGAP standards and uses organic fertilizers to keep the trees healthy and productive.

Since early November, the orchard has been open to visitors. Entry fees are 30,000 VND per adult, while children can enter free of charge.

Dinh Thu Trang (right), a visitor from Hanoi, said the short weekend trip of around 100 km offered beautiful scenery and an enjoyable fruit-picking experience with friends.

The ripening yellow orchard has become a captivating attraction for many.

On average, the site draws 150–200 visitors each day from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and other provinces, creating additional jobs and income for local residents.
