Bac Ninh expands tourism links to build regional heritage network
BAC NINH – The northern province of Bac Ninh is stepping up cooperation with neighboring localities and travel businesses to develop new tourism routes and strengthen its position as a cultural destination, leveraging an expanded tourism landscape and a rich heritage base.
Local authorities and industry representatives say the province's broader administrative and tourism space has created opportunities to diversify tourism products, attract more visitors and enhance competitiveness.

The provincial Tourism Association currently has more than 20 active travel companies. Since the beginning of the year, many operators have conducted site surveys and signed cooperation agreements with tourist attractions to develop new itineraries.
According to the association, promotional activities have included exhibitions of traditional craft products, Dong Ngu water puppet performances and the introduction of well-known destinations such as Tay Yen Tu, the Hoang Hoa Tham historical site, Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Bo Da Pagoda and the traditional Diem Village festival.
One of the province's flagship initiatives is the Thang Long–Kinh Bac tourist train, launched in September 2025, which connects Hanoi with Bac Ninh's Quan Ho folk-song region and offers visitors a cultural experience throughout the journey.
Beyond intra-provincial cooperation, Bac Ninh is also strengthening partnerships with neighboring provinces to create attractive inter-regional tourism products.
In April, tourism associations from Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Bac Ninh jointly held a conference under the theme "One Journey – Three Heritage Destinations," aiming to combine the cultural and natural assets of the three localities into high-quality tourism packages.
The network links some of northern Vietnam's best-known heritage sites, including the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay–Cat Ba Archipelago and the Yen Tu–Vinh Nghiem–Con Son, Kiep Bac cultural heritage complex.

Tourism experts say Bac Ninh holds a competitive advantage thanks to its Quan Ho folk singing tradition, extensive historical relics, festivals and traditional craft villages.
They recommend that the province continue developing a tourism ecosystem centered on cultural heritage while increasing the use of digital technology and destination branding.
Provincial authorities are currently finalizing a master tourism development plan for the 2026-2030 period, expected to be approved this year.
A key component of the strategy is expanding regional cooperation and tourism promotion, particularly with localities in the Hanoi metropolitan area and the Red River Delta, while deepening partnerships with Quang Ninh and Hai Phong through shared UNESCO-recognized heritage assets.
Bac Ninh aims to make tourism a key economic sector by 2030, targeting at least 10 million visitors annually, including more than 9 million domestic travelers and around 620,000 international arrivals.
