According to the provincial Department of Construction, between 2021 and 2025 Bac Ninh selected investors and implemented 145 urban, residential and commercial housing projects, covering nearly 28 million square metres of floor space and about 4,980 hectares of land.
Public investment projects carried out through land-use right auctions added more than 6.8 million square metres of housing floor space for self-built homes.
In social housing, 43 projects have been approved since 2021, with a total floor area of nearly 3 million square metres, equivalent to more than 52,000 apartments, mainly serving workers and low-income groups.
However, newly developed housing floor space has reached about 37.65 million square metres, falling short of the province’s targets for the 2021–2025 period, officials said.
Looking ahead, Bac Ninh plans to review and reallocate residential land in line with new urban development models following administrative boundary adjustments and the formation of growth hubs.
Urban development will be organised by regions and key corridors, with a focus on connectivity to strategic transport infrastructure, including the planned Gia Binh International Airport, ring roads, railways and expressways.
The province will curb plot-by-plot land sales, prioritise green urban development and increase green spaces, water surfaces, public areas and high-rise housing in densely populated zones.
The PPC Chairman Pham Hoang Son said urban planning would play a decisive role in future development and called for unified implementation. He stressed mandatory inclusion of social housing in urban plans and strict compliance with approved construction and architectural standards.
Provincial authorities said the Department of Construction would consolidate feedback and finalise a draft report on urban development orientations for submission to the provincial leadership for further review.
