At the meeting, Thai provided an overview of Bac Ninh’s socio-economic development, potential, advantages and development orientations following the July 2025 merger with Bac Giang province.

He affirmed that Bac Ninh attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Chinese localities, businesses and partners.

As of the end of July 2026, the province had attracted 1,622 projects from Chinese investors, with total registered capital of about 12.39 billion USD.

Two-way trade between Bac Ninh and China reached 25.49 billion USD in the first seven months of the year, accounting for nearly 20% of the province’s total import-export turnover.

Bac Ninh currently maintains cooperative relations with five Chinese localities, namely Nanning, Laibin, Weifang, Zhenjiang, and Hekou.

Regarding the delegation’s working programme, Thai said the delegation would hold talks and sign a cooperation agreement with Shandong province, organise a seminar to promote Bac Ninh’s investment environment, attend the “Shandong–Vietnam Dialogue,” and meet with a number of Chinese businesses and partners.

He asked the embassy to continue supporting Bac Ninh in connecting with Chinese localities and businesses and attracting investment in sectors such as semiconductors, electronic chips, digital transformation, smart urban development, high-tech agriculture, the green economy and the circular economy.

He also called for support in promoting the province’s culture and tourism, expanding markets for its signature products, and connecting intellectuals, entrepreneurs and the Bac Ninh community in China.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Binh congratulated Bac Ninh on its achievements in socio-economic development, investment attraction and the expansion of external relations.

The two sides could also strengthen connections and promote cooperation between Bac Ninh and Chinese localities, research institutions, hospitals and businesses in healthcare and high-tech sectors.
