Bac Ninh spends over 33.2 billion VND to install T2 transformer
BAC NINH- The Electricity Grid Project Managing Board under EVN’s Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) has commenced installation of a 40MVA T2 transformer at Son Dong 110kV substation (in Yen Dinh commune). This project will help to increase power supply capacity, meeting the load demand in the province’s northern region.
The project is valued at some 33.2 billion VND (1.28 million USD), which is expected to be completed in the 2nd quarter 2026.

It is designed with installation of a 40MVA transformer and a remote data collection, metering, monitoring and control system, linking and sharing data with the Regional Remote Control Center to ensure operation of an unmanned substation.
Besides, a 35kV switchgear system (including a main panel, a metering cabinet and a bus coupler panel) will be installed while relocating the 35kV feeder panel and auxiliary service panel from busbar C31 to busbar C32 to ensure safe and flexible operation.
The project is jointly implemented by Power Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (as design consultant), Power Grid Project Management Board (supervision consultant) and the joint venture of Truong Thanh Construction and Installation Company Limited, LS ELECTRIC Vietnam Company Limited and MEE Power Transformer Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (construction and equipment supply and installation).
The installation of the T2 transformer will help to enhance power supply and assist load sharing among 220kV substations in the region.
