Bac Ninh strengthens electricity conservation, ensure power supply during hot summer
BAC NINH - In response to the forecast increase in electricity demand during the peak summer months, Bac Ninh Power Company is implementing a range of synchronous solutions for electricity conservation, load management, and close coordination with customers to ensure a safe and stable power supply while minimising the risk of system overloads.
According to the company, although the hot season has just begun, electricity consumption has been steadily rising in recent days.

Power grid maintenance is carried out at Van Trung Industrial Park. |
For instance, on April 6, the province's electricity consumption capacity reached nearly 2,700 MW, an increase of 7.8% compared to the same period last year, with 51.01 million kWh of electricity consumed, up 3.2% year-on-year.
On April 10, the respective figures were 2,600 MW and 56.18 million kWh, up 6.3% and 12.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
To proactively ensure power supply, the company has focused on implementing programmes to manage load demand for 2026, with a strong emphasis on electricity savings and specific commitments from each customer group.
Subordinate units have continued to sign commitments on electricity savings with 100% of customers in the administrative units and public lighting, industrial production, and service sectors, while also updating all data to the management system as required.
In addition, the power sector is intensifying its load shifting programme, encouraging businesses to adjust their production plans and limit electricity use during peak hours of the northern power system (from 1pm to 3pm and from 8pm to 11pm) between May and August.
Large customers have been directly engaged to agree on load profiles and sign agreements to participate in demand response (DR) and load shifting programmes, helping reduce operational pressure during critical system periods.
By mid-March, the company had already worked with key production customers in the province. It had also completed the power grid repair and upgrade plan for 2026 by the end of last month.
Additionally, efforts to inspect electricity use for savings and efficiency are being strengthened, especially for public lighting and advertising lights during the hot season.
The power sector is also working with local authorities to set up inspection and supervision teams to address any violations of regulations.
Alongside operational solutions, Bac Ninh Power Company will continue to promote public awareness campaigns, advising residents and businesses to use energy-saving devices, LED lights, and air conditioners wisely, and develop rooftop solar power systems to help ensure a stable power supply during the peak season.
