Bac Ninh provincial leader receives Singapore Ambassador
BAC NINH - Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) on April 13 hosted a courtesy meeting with Rajpal Singh, Singapore’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam, during his working visit to the province.
At the meeting, the PPC Chairman welcomed the Ambassador and his delegation, and provided an overview of the province’s natural conditions, strategic location and economic scale.

Bac Ninh, together with Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, forms a key economic corridor playing a central role in the socio-economic development of the Red River Delta and the country as a whole.
The province’s economic growth in the first quarter was estimated at 9.82%, ranking fifth nationwide.

As of April 2026, Bac Ninh was home to 236 valid projects from Singaporean investors, with total registered capital reaching nearly 18 billion USD, making Singapore the third-largest investor among 44 countries and territories investing in the province.
Most Singaporean projects are concentrated in the production of electronic components and accessories, contributing significantly to the province’s socio-economic development, particularly in job creation, productivity improvement and the transfer of technology and modern management practices.

Following administrative consolidation, Bac Ninh has substantial room for further development. The province is focusing on key infrastructure projects, including the Gia Binh International Airport and a high-speed railway linking Hanoi and Quang Ninh that will pass through the province, opening up new growth drivers and resources.
The provincial leader called on the Ambassador to continue supporting and introducing Singaporean businesses and investors to Bac Ninh, pledging that the province would provide maximum support and favorable conditions for investment exploration and cooperation.
He also expressed hope for greater assistance in facilitating education and training opportunities in Singapore for Bac Ninh officials, teachers and students.
Ambassador Rajpal Singh thanked provincial leaders for their warm reception and praised Bac Ninh’s recent socio-economic achievements.
He noted that Vietnam-Singapore relations were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2025, marking a shift toward deeper, more substantive and long-term cooperation.
The Ambassador described Bac Ninh as an attractive destination for foreign investors, including those from Singapore, highlighting the effective operations of several major Singaporean firms in the province.

He said Singapore places high importance on strengthening cooperation with Bac Ninh and is committed to supporting collaboration across various sectors, particularly education and human resource development.
Looking ahead to the 30th anniversary of Singapore’s presence in Vietnam in 2026, Singapore is considering the development of the VSIP III project in Bac Ninh, covering an area of around 400 hectares.
On behalf of the provincial leadership, the PPC Chairman expressed support for the VSIP III project, affirming that Bac Ninh would direct its implementation in a swift and determined manner to ensure efficiency and success.
