Bac Ninh wrestler wins gold at 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series
BAC NINH - Bac Ninh wrestler Do Ngoc Linh won the gold medal in the women’s 50kg category at the 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series.
In the final held on Da Nang beach, Linh faced Romania’s Anna Maria Giania. Despite her opponent’s physical advantage and international experience, the Bac Ninh athlete competed confidently, using her signature techniques to control the match.

With disciplined tactics, flexibility and strong endurance, Linh secured a convincing 3-1 victory to claim the championship title and bring home a gold medal for Vietnam.
The 2026 Beach Wrestling World Series, the highest-level international competition for the sport, took place in Da Nang from May 9-10. The event attracted more than 100 athletes from countries with strong beach wrestling traditions, including the United States, Russia, France and Greece.
This marked the first time the United World Wrestling federation granted Vietnam hosting rights for the tournament.
Vietnam’s wrestling team competed with 21 male and female athletes across eight weight categories, winning a total of seven medals, including two golds, one silver and four bronzes.

Born in 2004 in Ngoc Thien Commune, Do Ngoc Linh is regarded as one of Bac Ninh’s most promising athletes, having achieved strong results at both national and international tournaments over recent years.
The latest victory marked Linh’s second gold medal at a world-level beach wrestling event, following her title at the 2024 U20 Beach Wrestling World Championships in Greece. She also won gold at the recent 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
