Anantara Hoi An Resort overlooks Thu Bon River in Hoi An.

Spreading over 35 hectares next to Ha My beach, the resort has 100 villas and eight separate spa rooms all designed in traditional Vietnamese style.

The villas measure 80-660 square meters each and can accommodate three to 15 guests.

Room rates start from VND17 million ($716) per night.

Its Café Nam Hai's signature dish is wagyu beef tomahawk, which is grilled on Himalayan red salt stone and accompanied by potato puree, salad leaves, bread dumplings, and spinach.

With an overall score of 96.27, Anantara Hoi An Resort came in eighth.

Located by Thu Bon River, the resort is one of the few resorts in Vietnam totally free from plastic bottles.

Its architecture takes inspiration from French colonial architecture with 94 rooms painted in yellow and equipped with environment-friendly equipment.

This year, the Ritz-Carlton in Malaysia was named the best resort in Asia, followed by El Nido Resorts and Shangri-La Boracay in the Philippines.

More than 520,000 Condé Nast Traveler readers submitted responses rating their travel experiences across the globe and sharing their opinions on the top cities, islands, hotels and resorts, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and other topics.
