Delegation from RoK’s Incheon visits Bac Giang province

The working session was chaired by Director of the Department Nguyen Hoang Trung. At the session, Trung briefed his guests on RoK firms’ investment in the province.
Bac Giang is currently home to 197 projects invested by businesses from the RoK, with a total registered capital of more than 760 million USD. The RoK ranks first in terms of the number of projects and second in terms of registered capital in Bac Giang province.

Projects of the RoK have contributed to the local socio-economic development, especially in economic structure shifting, job generation, transfer of technology and advanced management experience.
Besides, the RoK government has funded building the Vietnam-Korea Vocational College of Technology with a total investment of 320 billion VND (14.02 million USD). All graduates of this college have jobs with stable income at foreign companies.
During the meeting, representatives from Incheon city voiced their hope to cooperate with Bac Giang city, firstly in the field of culture and sports. The Department of Foreign Affairs will be the coordinator providing information on the province’s localities and helping the two sides seek cooperation.
The RoK delegation also introduced general information on Incheon city, one of the 31 localities of Gyeonggi, the most-populated province in RoK. The city covers an area of 461.4 square km (about 4.5 percent of the Gyeonggi province), has a population of 217,000 people.

As the city is close to Seoul capital city, its location and transport infrastructure are favorable. Besides, it is the sole industrial city producing pottery products in the RoK. Incheon has grown as an international cultural city with several annual exhibitions on pottery products. In addition, the city’s hot springs attract plenty domestic and foreign visitors.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue exchanges based on the two localities’ potential and strengths, enhancing mutual understanding towards stronger cooperation in some fields.
