A cultural festival entitled ‘Homeland Spring – Vietnamese Tet Festival Amagasaki 2024’ will be held in Amagasaki City in Japan from February 3 to 4 as an activity to celebrate Tet — the biggest annual activity of Vietnamese people worldwide.
The event is co-organised by the Japan-Vietnam Trade Association and the Vietnamese General Consulate in Osaka.

An Ao Dai beauty pageant will be held as part of the festival.

The festivities will feature various activities, such as art programmes, Vietnamese folk games, and a trade fair promoting Vietnamese culture and cuisine.
The highlights of the festival include an Ao Dai beauty pageant as well as a fashion show to introduce traditional Vietnamese costumes, especially the Ao Dai, to Japanese people.
According to President of the Japan-Vietnam Trade Association Pham Thi Thu Huyen, the festival aims to promote Vietnamese culture in Japan while enhancing people-to-people exchange and fostering cultural and trade links between the two countries.
The event is expected to attract the participation of 100,000 Overseas Vietnamese people and Japanese visitors.
Hanoi promotes tourism through Ao Dai Festival
With the aspiration of honouring the beauty of Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dresses) and promoting Ao Dai as a tourism product, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2023 officially opened, at the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake.

Hue Ao Dai Festival 2023 was organised on August 12 as part of Hue Festival 2023 which was designed as a four-season festival in order to organise a series of festive activities throughout the year, promoting the unique values of Hue and Vietnamese culture, and showing scenic spots, spiritual tourism and local cultural activities to lure tourists.
‘Ao dai’ show promotes culture of ancient capital
A fashion show entitled “Essence of Ancient Capital”, by designer Thach Linh is scheduled to take place at Hoa Lu Ancient Town, Ninh Binh City on September 9, showcasing traditional Vietnamese ‘ao dai’ and evening gowns.
