Global GAP and VietGAP longans enjoy high selling price
The Cooperative has more than 50 hectares of longan (mostly late ripening variety) in Deo Quat and Vinh Tan villages of Luc Son commune, 10 hectares of which are grown in line with Global GAP standard and remaining area follows VietGAP standard.

Thanks to good cultivation, this year, the Cooperative expects to harvest about 240 tonnes of fruits, the same quantity as last crop. As of August 16, the Cooperative harvested 30 percent (60 tonnes) of the fruits and sold them at 30,000 VND per kg, two- or three-fold increase compared to the market price.
Bac Giang has about 3,400 hectares of longans, 3,000 of which can be harvested mostly in the districts of Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Yen The, Tan Yen and Lang Giang.
The favorable weather condition this year and good caring technique resulted in a bumper harvest of over 25,000 tonnes of longans, up over 2,000 tonnes year on year.
By August 16, the province harvested more than 18,000 tonnes, including 7,300 tonnes from Luc Nam, 6,300 tonnes from Luc Ngan, 1,600 tonnes from Tan Yen, 1,300 tonnes from Yen The among others.
The fruits are sold at average price of 8 – 13,000 VND per kg, some at 15 – 20,000 VND per kg.
