HCM City presents Tet gifts worth 110 billion VND to poor, policy beneficiaries
Nearly 200,000 gift packages worth about 110 billion VND (4.36 million USD) were provided for disadvantaged people and policy beneficiary families in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet).
During the Tet festival, the Standing Board of the municipal VFF Committee coordinated with local agencies to implement activities to support disadvantaged people across the city.

It collaborated with the State Bank of Vietnam’s HCM City Branch to support poor and near-poor households in building new houses or repair old homes.
For the first time, the committee organised the Spring of Solidarity – Beloved Tet of 2025 programme in 273 residential areas across the city, featuring cultural activities, folk games, and support for families in need and those with policy-related circumstances.
The city’s VFF Committee also joined local social security agencies to provide health insurance cards to disadvantaged residents with a budget of over 1 billion VND.
It partnered with the city’s Department of Culture and Sports to organise a Tet decoration contest that saw the participation of 6,598 entries across the city.
The committee also raised funds worth 1.6 billion VND to support disadvantaged residents in the provinces of Tay Ninh, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Binh Phuoc during the Tet festival.
The highest Tet bonus in Vietnam this year has been recorded at VND1.908 billion ($75,162), while the nationwide average stands at VND7.7 million, according to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
BAC GIANG - In order to recognize the contributions and dedication of employees, the Board of Directors of Newwing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd in Van Trung Industrial Park of Bac Giang province will spend a total profit of more than 145.1 billion VND (6 million USD) to give Tet bonus for workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
The highest Tet bonus in Hanoi this year stands at VND311 million ($12,203), awarded by a foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise, according to the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The Vietnam national football team received a generous bonus after a 5-1 aggregate win over Singapore in the semifinals to advance to the ASEAN Cup final.
The highest bonus to be paid by any HCMC employer for the upcoming Lunar New Year is VND1.9 billion (US$74,600).
BAC GIANG - The highest bonus for the Lunar New Year 2025 is 185 million VND (7,780 USD) given to employee at a foreign-invested enterprise in industrial parks in Bac Giang province, reported the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (DOLISA). This is the bonus level for Vietnamese labour with outstanding achievements.
