BAC NINH - Lychee sales in Bac Ninh province have progressed smoothly this season, with prices remaining at high levels and generating substantial income for growers and processing businesses, according to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade.
Since the start of the harvest, lychee prices in the province have ranged between 60,000 VND and 90,000 VND (2.28-3.42 USD) per kilogramme, significantly higher than in previous years.

About 107,000 tonnes of lychees have been sold so far, accounting for more than 85% of the season’s projected output.
Domestic consumption reached approximately 77,000 tonnes, while exports totaled around 30,000 tonnes.
China remained the largest export market, importing roughly 29,000 tonnes of lychees from the province.
Bac Ninh lychees were also shipped to a number of high-standard markets, including Japan with about 260 tonnes, Canada with 170 tonnes and the European Union with 110 tonnes, alongside several other destinations.
Supported by strong prices and favorable market demand, total revenue from lychee production and trade in the province is estimated at nearly 6 trillion VND (228 million USD) from the beginning of the season to date, up more than 158% from the corresponding period of the 2025 crop.
Provincial authorities said the sharp increase reflects improvements in product quality, expanded market access and stronger trade promotion efforts.
In 2026, Bac Ninh has nearly 29,800 hectares of lychee cultivation, with total output forecast at around 125,000 tonnes.
Although production is lower than last year due to adverse weather conditions, fruit quality has been rated highly, with attractive appearance and a large proportion meeting export standards.
Bac Ninh is currently entering the peak harvest period for the main lychee crop. The season is expected to conclude in early July.
