Hoa Son Bridge over Cau River is located in Hoa Son Commune, Hiep Hoa District of Bac Giang Province and Dong Cao Ward, Pho Yen City of Thai Nguyen Province. It was invested by the Bac Giang Provincial Management Board for Traffic Construction Investment Project with a cost of more than 540 billion VND (22.9 million USD).

The bridge has a total length of 439 m, the bridge surface is 11 m wide. The paths to the bridge is built in line with third grade plain road standard stretching over 10 km with a road surface of 11 m wide and a base of 12 m wide.

Up to now, the project has been completed with a lighting system to ease the commuters and ensure traffic safety on the route.

To synchronize with this project, Thai Nguyen province has urgently constructed the route to link Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc provinces that connect with Hoa Son bridge with a total value of more than 3.8 trillion VND (161.2 million USD). As schedule, the site clearance will be completed in August 2024 and the entire project will be completed in 2025.

Along with the above project, Bac Giang currently has a number of projects connecting with Thai Nguyen province that are under construction with high progress.

Particularly, Bac Giang has basically completed project to build the road connecting National Highway 37 - 17 to Vo Nhai (Thai Nguyen) while Thai Nguyen is implementing investment and construction 6.2km road in line with third grade mountain standard which is expected to be completed in 2025.

To promote regional linkages and create momentum for mutual development, the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee have signed a program of coordination and development linkage between the two provinces for the period 2023-2025 and the following years.

This is an important basis for the Provincial People's Committees, sectors and localities of the two provinces to promote the implementation of coordination contents and programs, including the field of transportation.

Accordingly, the two localities directed to accelerate the progress of ongoing projects, plan and propose new projects in line with the development orientation of the two provinces, especially focusing on connecting with the Capital Ring Road 5; studying and supplementing the planning of the routes connecting Hanoi - Lang Son and Hanoi - Thai Nguyen expressways.

Regarding National Highway 17, the Department of Transport of Bac Giang continues to propose the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Road Administration to allow the renovation of National Highway 17 from Mo Trang to Tam Kha while the Department of Transport of Thai Nguyen coordinates with Bac Giang to study and propose the renovation of the Tam Kha underground and National Highway 17 on the Thai Nguyen side.

Regarding National Highway 37, the Department of Transport of Bac Giang continues to propose the Ministry of Transport and the Vietnam Road Administration to maintain each section; the Department of Transport of Thai Nguyen proposes to repair and expand some sections to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

Also, the Department of Transport of Thai Nguyen supplements the planning to connect provincial road 294D in Phu Binh district and build the route connecting with the branch route of provincial road 294B through Ban Ven (Yen The) passing Lien Minh commune, Vo Nhai district, Thai Nguyen province...

With a series of ongoing projects and new planning between the two localities, the traffic connection between Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen will be increasingly improved, helping expand space, create momentum for mutual development.
