The 35-year-old mother gave birth to her daughter, weighing 3.8 kg, in a taxi on the way from her home in the northern province of Hung Yen to Duc Giang General Hospital in Hanoi.

Both mother and child reached the hospital to receive medical care and were discharged. The baby is the mother’s fourth child.

The mother said it took her around an hour to get from her house in Hung Yen to Hanoi, and that the birth was complete by the time the taxi arrived at the hospital.

Doctor Nguyen Khac Thuy from the hospital’s obstetrics department said the labor had been quick because the mother had already given birth three times before. The doctor confirmed that the birth was indeed complete by the time the mother and child reached the hospital.
