National Highway 31 renovation project inaugurated

BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of October 9, the Ministry of Transport and the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee jointly organized the inauguration ceremony of the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 31, section Km2+400 - Km44+900 (passing Bac Giang City, Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Luc Ngan districts).

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport; Duong Van Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Anh Duong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC).

The above mentioned section of Highway 31 is a traffic route that plays an important role in Bac Giang province, especially in transporting lychee on harvest season.

In August 2022, the project was commenced with a length of more than 39.1 km in line with the scale of a level III plain road. The roadbed is 12 m wide and the road surface is 11 m wide.

PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong voices at the ceremony.

The total execution cost of over 863 billion VND (36.3 million USD) was mobilized from the state budget in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025. Vietnam Road Administration was the investor.

Speaking at the ceremony, PPC Chairman Le Anh Duong informed that there are 5 national highways running through Bac Giang province with a total length of 308 km. Of which, National Highway 31 passes from Bac Giang City through the centers of three districts: Luc Nam, Luc Ngan and Son Dong. The total length of the route through Bac Giang province is 97 km. This is one of the arterial roads of the province, especially to Luc Nam, Luc Ngan and Son Dong districts.

Up to now, the project is completed and qualified for use with guaranteed quality; Construction progress exceeded about 3 months compared to the contract. The project creates favorable conditions for the transportation of goods, helps reduce time and costs, thereby promoting economic development and creating many new job opportunities for people and businesses.

Also, it contributes to changing the economic structure and labor distribution, promoting the expansion of cultural exchanges, especially in mountainous districts and remote areas of the province.

The route gradually completes the transportation network of Bac Giang province.

Bac Giang – The Management Board of Traffic and Agriculture Construction and Investment Project in Bac Giang province has prepared conditions to commence the provincial road 295, the section from Ben Tuan bridge to Cao Thuong township and from Cao Thuong township to Bi Noi bridge (Tan Yen district) in this October.

Over 16 billion VND spent to repair national road No 31
(BGO)- The provincial Department of Transportation has launched repairing the road foundation, road surface and other construction on the national road No 31, the segment from Km 46+00 to Km 47+900 in Luc Ngan district. 
Nearly 72,300 workers sent abroad in the first half of 2023
Nearly 72,300 Vietnamese workers were sent to work abroad in the first half of 2023, accounting for 65.72% of the whole-year plan, and 1.55 times higher than the same period last year.
