Over 5,000 tonnes of oranges and pomelos consumed smoothly at early season
This year, the province develops about 5,470 hectares of pomelos with expected output of 40,500 tonnes, over 2,500 tonnes of which were harvested. Most of the harvested fruits are green skin pomelos with selling price of 25-40,000 VND per kg (5-10,000 VND higher than the same period last year) and peach sugar grapefruit with price ranging from 10 – 15,000 VND/fruit.

Meanwhile, the province has more than 3,400 hectares of oranges. The garden owners harvested more than 2,500 tonnes of fruits, mainly yellow flesh oranges, and sold at 15-20,000 VND per kg.
This year, Luc Ngan district grows more than 4,000 hectares of oranges and pomelos with estimated output of nearly 40,000 tonnes.
On the occasion of early season, the harvested output is not much so consumption is smooth. Some traders drove their vehicles into the garden to buy products at high prices. Sometimes the green-skin pomelo was sold up to 50,000 VND per kg and red flesh oranges at 60,000 VND per kg.
In November, the People's Committee of Luc Ngan district plans to organize consumption promotion event of oranges, pomelos and typical products in associated with the tourism program "Luc Ngan in autumn - winter".
The local oranges and pomelo are also promoted, introduced and consumed on e-commerce platforms, supermarkets and convenience stores among others.
The area of fruit trees grown in line with VietGAP process is increasing (currently reaching more than 2,300 hectares) in addition to more than 10 hectares of organic production.
To date, the district has had 3 growing area codes of pomelo to export to the United States with an area of 30 hectares and over 164 hectares of pomelo to Russia market.
