The 2026 Ha Tinh Province Nghe Tinh Vi-Giam Folk Singing Festival brought together more than 700 artisans and performers from 27 Vi-Giam folk singing clubs representing communes and wards across the province.

Outstanding performances are presented at the closing ceremony.

According to Tran Xuan Luong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of the festival’s organisers, Nghe Tinh Vi- Giam folk singing is a UNESCO-recognised representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Each festival is not only an occasion for exchange, learning and competition, but also a practical activity contributing to the preservation, transmission and promotion of heritage values in contemporary life.

After four days of vibrant competition, the organisers presented collective awards.

These included three second prizes, with no first prize awarded, for teams from Tien Dien Commune, Thach Lac Commune and Tung Loc Commune; three third prizes and six consolation prizes; 15 prizes for outstanding performances; and individual awards such as promising voice and senior performer.

Alongside the 2026 Ha Tinh Vi-Giam Folk Singing Festival, the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador contest also attracted the participation of large numbers of students across the province.

After more than three months since its launch, the contest received a broad response, with 155,586 students from 252 schools taking part.

After the preliminary round, the provincial organisers received 595 quality entries, including 395 written entries and 200 video clips, for the final round.

Many works were carefully prepared, demonstrating creative thinking and the responsibility of the younger generation in spreading reading culture.

Commenting on the contest results, Nguyen Cong Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Head of the organisers of the 2026 Reading Culture Ambassador contest, emphasised that the contest had continued to create strong influence, helping nurture a love of books, build reading habits and form a reading culture among the younger generation.

Outstanding entries not only demonstrated students’ capacity for appreciation and creative thinking, but also conveyed many humanistic messages about knowledge, compassion, the aspiration to contribute, and responsibility towards family, homeland and country.

Film inspired by Vietnamese Quan Ho folk singing released globally

Produced by the India Book of Records (IBR) based on an idea by Prof. Dr. Chu Bao Que, "Love Garden" weaves Quan Ho folk singing into a bridge connecting past and present. The storyline follows a young Indian woman from Madhya Pradesh state who travels to the heartland of Quan Ho in northern Vietnam and performance stages in Hanoi to trace memories of her late mother.
