(BGO) – According to Chairman of Phuc Hoa commune People’s
Committee in Tan Yen district (Bac Giang province) Ngo Van Tiep, some lychee
gardens in the commune now can be harvested. Thanks to early ripening time and
good quality, Phuc Hoa lychee has been ordered by many traders and customers.
This year, Tan Yen district grows 1,340 hectares of lychee, including 1,170 hectares of early ripening lychee with estimated output of 16,500 tonnes mostly in the communes of Phuc Hoa, Lien Son, Tan Trung, Hop Duc, Lien Son, Lien Chung, Viet Lap and Cao Thuong township.

With 680 hectares of early ripening lychee, this year people in Phuc Hoa commune expects to harvest about 9,000 tonnes of fresh lychee. Some gardens enter harvest time, starting from May 20. The early ripening fruit with good quality are now sold at 30,000 – 35,000 VND (1.28 – 1.49 USD) per kg right at the garden.
“Recently, the commune has harvested from 200 to 500 kg of lychee on daily basis. All fruits are packed as gifts. In few days more, nearly 20 weighting points will be established in the commune to buy lychee for export,” said Tiep.

charge of processing, packaging and producing utilities for lychee harvest season
in Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang province) have recently accelerated operation.

(BGO)- After Kep station (in Lang Giang
district) is exploited as an international multimodal transport terminal, Bac
Giang province has another transportation mode for export of farm produce.
However, it will need time and joint efforts of the competent agencies,
localities and enterprises to change the opportunity into advantages.
