The Bac Giang waste-to-energy plant is expected to incinerate 750 tonnes of household waste and 100 tonnes of industrial waste per day and night and generate 16 MW of electricity. The total investment for the project is 1.866 trillion VND (71.6 million USD).

To date, many items have been completed, ensuring the contruction progress, while the investor is preparing to receive waste since June 2027.

At the meeting, the investor requested the province to remove some “bottlenecks” affecting the project progress, including the planning of a fly ash landfill area, accelerating procedures for the 110kV power transmission line and the raw water supply pipeline and promptly signing the waste treatment service contract.

In line with the waste-to-energy project, AMACCAO Group proposed investment in a circular industrial cluster covering approximately 25 hectares following the circular economy model, utilizing by-products generated from the waste treatment process for recycling into construction materials and serving industrial production.

According to the proposal, the industrial cluster will consist of slag treatment and recycling, construction waste treatment and investment in a high-end packaging factory using European technology.

Once the project is put in operation, it is expected to contribute from 300 to 500 billion VND (11.5 to 19.2 million USD) annually to the state budget and create jobs for hundreds of local workers.

Concluding the working session, the provincial Party Chief Nguyen Hong Thai highly spoke on the proactiveness of the investor in preparing conditions for implementation of the project.

Besides, he highly appreciated their professional investment strategy as well as application of modern technology in waste treatment and development of cicular economic model.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee basically agreed with the proposal by the investor in principle, while requesting relevant departments, agencies and local authorities to closely coordinate with the investor in reviewing, studying and implementing procedures in accordance with regulations.

He added, if there is any difficulty or obstacle arising during the implementation of the project, the investor should collaborate with relevant agencies for timely resolution.

The province’s viewpoint is that development must be based on the join efforts among the government, businesses and the people, aiming toward sustainable growth and ensuring harmony between economic development and environmental protection.
