Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong on February 22 received visiting Ambassador of Brazil to Vietnam Marco Farani. |
At the ceremony, Ambassador Marco Farani expressed his impressions at Bac Giang’s dynamic development with convenient transportation, which has prompted him to visit the locality.
The visit will contribute to promoting the relationship between Brazil and Vietnam in general and Bac Giang in particular, he said.
Visiting Bac Giang LGG Garment Corporation, the ambassador said that in March 2024, Vietnam and Brazil will jointly organise a business forum in Hanoi, which is expected to draw more than 60 Brazilian businesses, many of them specializing in cotton yarn production.
This is an opportunity for textile and garment enterprises of the two countries to interact and exchange with each other, he said, hoping that Bac Giang garment enterprises will pay attention to importing Brazilian cotton.
For his part, Duong welcomed the Brazilian ambassador for his first visit to the province. Informing the guest about the province's socio-economic development situation, the provincial leader said that Bac Giang is in the process of strong industrialisation. He also took the occasion to introduce local strengths in agriculture and industry.
Duong expressed his hope that the ambassador will serve as a bridge to bring Brazilian investors and businesses to Bac Giang to visit industrial parks and scenic spots as well as explore investment cooperation opportunities.
Regarding the proposal for importing Brazilian cotton, the chairman asked the Brazilian side to bring a delegation of the Brazilian Cotton Growers Association (Abrapa) to Bac Giang to discuss the matter.
