Teacher Cam Thi Ngoan inspires students’ creative passion

(BGO) – Giap Hai High School (Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province) has won many high achievements at the technical invention contest at the province and national levels for recent two years. The success was greatly contributed by teacher Cam Thi Ngoan (1986).  

Born in Thanh Hoa province, after graduating from Hanoi University of Education 2, Ngoan got married and moved to live in Bac Giang province. She started teaching at Viet Yen High School 1 in 2010.

With good professional achievement, Ngoan was transferred to work at Giap Hai High School in early academic year 2017 – 2018 after 7 years teaching at Viet Yen High School.

At new environment, she took a quick integration then proved her ability and creative thinking to apply the information technology into teaching method innovation.

“Though I am a Literature teacher, I have passion for technical field. Since early childhood, I admired the skillful hands of the technician to repair the broken electronic devices such as television, radio, equipment systems...Thus, I am happy to instruct the students to join the technical invention contest as the Administration Board’s assignment”.

Most of the technical science projects belong to natural science field that caused many difficulties for the teacher and students during research. Thanks to the support and helping hands from other colleagues, she can inspire more students.

Particularly in academic year 2018 – 2019, the project “Survival backpack on fire at high building” made by group of students Doan Manh Cuong and Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga under Ngoan’s instruction won first prize at the provincial Technical Invention Contest for Junior and Senior Students and third prize at national contest.

This year, she devotedly supported Ngo Quang Trieu and Le Thi Phuong Hoai when they raised the idea to create the device to detect people and dangerous environment in close car. It was a new hot project because many incidents have happened, even causing fatal case due to gas asphyxiation.

In this project, Ngoan guided the students to research and install the equipment in the car to quickly detect children, toxic gas, car inner temperature to restrict the bad incident.

The equipment has several advantages such as 24/7 operation, alarm sent directly to the car owner via telephone and horn, simple use and installation, cheap price.

By accompanying students in executing each step of the project, making report, representation and debate, teacher Cam Thi Ngoan inspired the passion for research, helping win first prize at the provincial Technical Invention Contest for Junior and Senior Students in academic year 2019 – 2020.

Teacher Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice Headmaster of Giap Hai High School said: “Teacher Ngoan is very enthusiasm and responsible in working. She not only instructs the students to join and earn prizes at the technical invention contests but also has personally useful ideas to apply at the school”.

For such great effort, she was honored with the certificate of merit from Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and Labor Federation in academic year 2018 – 2019.

2 Bac Giang’s outstanding teachers honoured nationwide
(BGO)- Towards the 37th anniversary of the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day 20 November (1982-2019), Vietnam National Education Union and Ministry of Education and Training jointly held a ceremony on 16 and 17 November in Hanoi to honour 184 outstanding teachers  nationwide in 2019 . (BGO) - On the 37th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day 20 November (1982-2019), Vietnam Youth Federation, Ministry of Education and Training and Thien Long Group jointly held the programme “Sharing with the teachers” and honoring 63 outstanding teachers in ethnic minority areas on 15 and 16 November in Hanoi.
