Teaching Cheo and Quan ho folk singing to the art talents

(BGO) – The Center of Culture and Cinema in the northern
province of Bac Giang cooperated with the Center of Culture and Information in
Tan Yen district on May 8 kicked off the course to teach Cheo (traditional
opera) and Quan ho (Love duet) singing to more than 70 art talents in Phuc Hoa
commune (Tan Yen district).
The core members come from Hoa Lang Cheo group in Phuc Hoa commune.
In 10 day course, the participants will be introduced and taught various songs, the manner and method to perform the old melodies as well as various types of performance such as exchange and matchmaking singing.

They will get familiar with such ancient melodies and sections as Con nhen giang mung, Dao lieu, Luyen nam cung…
Phuc Hoa is one of the communes with developed art movement. The course to teach Quan ho and Cheo singing helps promote the singing activities, creat joy and cheerful atmosphere and improve the spiritual life to the people.
Additionally, it contributes to partly preserving and promoting the national art forms.
The ASEAN+3 singing contest 2019, the second of its kind, has been officially launched, open to professional pop singers aged 18-35 from 10 Southeast Asian nations with a view to promoting cultural exchanges in the bloc.
The recent programme themed ‘Rang ro mien quan ho’ (Radiance of Love Duet Singing Region) was chosen as the highlight of the 2019 'Visiting the land of Quan Ho (Love Duet) singing' Festival, which is held by the Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee from February 13-28.
Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province co-organised the “Ve mien Quan Ho” (Coming to the Quan ho region) programme to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Quan ho (love duet) singing being recognized as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage of humanity, in Bac Ninh city, on February 23.

February, at the Van singing house in Suoi Mo eco-tourism site, Nghia Phuong
commune, Luc Nam district in the northern province of Bac Giang, the provincial
Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the People’s Committee of Luc Nam
district jointly held the 3rd Chau Van (Vietnamese ritual) singing
festival 2019.
(BGO) – The Sloonghao singing festival, upland spring kermis 2019 and exchange of ethnic folk song singing are scheduled from February 15 – 18 in Tan Son commune and several mountainous localities in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province.
