Top 500 private companies create jobs for 10% of workforce: study

Vietnam’s top 500 private companies employ 10.4% of the workforce and account for 13% of total assets, according to a new government report.
They have combined annual revenues of VND15 quadrillion (US$634 billion), the Vietnamese Private Enterprises (VPE500) report said.

The companies are mainly in manufacturing, retail and trade and construction. VPE500 companies have assets growing by 15.4% annually and revenues by 11.7%.
The largest private companies are electronics seller Mobile World followed by retailer Vincommerce, automaker Truong Hai Auto Corporation, dairy giant Vinamilk and entertainment company Vinpearl.
The report was authored by the National Center for Socio-Economic Information and Forecast, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and Germany research facility Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
