Bac Ninh is located in the Hanoi Capital Region, the Northern Key Economic Region, and the Red River Delta. The province has 41 out of 50 industrial zones with approved detailed planning schemes, and 96 established industrial clusters covering a total area of 3,673 hectares. The planned industrial land area is 2,448 hectares.

Currently, Bac Ninh is the fifth largest economic province in Vietnam, with many key development indicators among the leaders in the country. The province has attracted over 18.38 billion USD in total investment, with foreign direct investment (FDI) reaching 5.5 billion USD, ranking third in the country, after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Wu emphasized that overall, the Vietnam-China relations have maintained a positive development trend and achieved many significant results.

In Bac Ninh, there are approximately 1,876 Chinese businesses operating, primarily in electronics manufacturing, auxiliary industries, and services, creating jobs for tens of thousands of workers and making significant contributions to the province's socio-economic development.

At the local level, Bac Ninh has signed many cooperation agreements with Chinese localities, such as Nanning, Laisun, Zhuhai, Zhenjiang, and Hekou, expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism.

During the meeting, the local leader suggested the Minister-Counsellor encourage Chinese investors and companies to explore investment opportunities in Bac Ninh in key sectors.

In addition to economic cooperation, Bac Ninh hopes to enhance cultural exchange, promote tourism development cooperation, and expand people-to-people exchanges between the two regions, thus deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China.

The province also proposed strengthening cooperation in education, training civil servants, and developing high-quality human resources to meet the needs of Chinese businesses in Vietnam, particularly in Bac Ninh.

Speaking at the meeting, Wu congratulated Bac Ninh on its outstanding achievements in recent years and affirmed that it is a dynamic locality, ranking among the top provinces in the country.

He appreciated the establishment of the new Bac Ninh province following the merger with Bac Giang province, noting that it not only expanded the development space but also had strategic importance, contributing significantly to the overall development of the country.

The Chinese Embassy is ready to act as a bridge, introducing Chinese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Bac Ninh. He also urged the province to continue supporting Chinese enterprises to operate efficiently, particularly in obtaining temporary residence permits and driving licences, and creating conditions for Chinese residents and workers to settle and work in the locality.

In response, Vice Chairman Phuong assigned relevant specialised agencies to study and address these issues in the near future. He also reaffirmed that Bac Ninh will always create the most favourable conditions for both domestic and foreign businesses to operate, invest, and develop in the province.

On this occasion, he presented the Chinese delegation with several specialty products of the province, such as Dong Ho folk paintings and dried lychee.
