At the meetings, Minister Dung studied the operations of the German vocational training system, especially the dual system of vocational education and training (VET) which is considered as key to the success of the country’s economy.

The dual training system aims at systematically combining the advantages of training in a company and education in a vocational school. About 52 percent of Germans aged 16-24 graduated from Dual VET apprenticeships, 2018 statistics of the BIBB showed.

About 1.32 million people, with an average age of 19.4, join the system each year, and 95.3 percent of graduates can find jobs. The dual system also sees the participation of 20 percent of German firms across the country.

The visit aims to gain more insights and experiences for Vietnam’s strategies in human resources development in general and vocational training in particular in the coming time.
