Traveling on inter-village and inter-commune roads in Viet Lap commune (Tan Yen district), many people are impressed by the two clean road sides with straight lines of different trees and vibrant flowers. These “model new rural roads” are built in most of the villages by local people.

On the route, there are automatic lighting systems, decorative street lights, billboards, flags, slogans and vivid visual propaganda murals. Most of the inter-village and inter-commune roads have been paved with asphalt or concrete, with a surface of 5 m or more.

In the campus of the village cultural house, there are stone benches and sports fields. All 13 villages in the area have actively participated in environmental sanitation movements. Each organization has its own implementation way.

Giap Van Hanh, Secretary of the Communal Party Committee shared: “The current achievements are gained thanks to the continuous efforts of the government and the contributions of the locals. Viet Lap commune arouses local energy to build new rural areas. The land donation movements to build roads, cultural houses or public works was greatly contributed by them. With a high spirit of consensus, people actively participate. Many families voluntarily contributed tens of millions of VND, especially one household donated more than 100 million VND to build new rural areas together with the locality. Up to now, the whole commune has built more than 100 km of rural roads and 6 model villages.

Not only in Viet Lap commune, the joint effort to build the homeland has been actively done in many villages and communes.

Tan Hung commune (Lang Giang district) was recognized as advanced new rural commune in December 2022. This year the commune focuses on building a model new village. All villages focus on mobilizing people to well keep environmental sanitation, self-contribute funds to grow and take care of the roads with flower, ornamental plants and shade trees.

According to the Provincial Coordination Office for New Style Rural Building Programme, it has mobilized great resources from the people as well as their unanimous support and response for years.

With creative ways to arouse the strength of the residential community, the rural picture has changed drastically, creating a green - clean - beautiful environment landscape and a foundation for development in the coming time. At the same time, it helped create an exciting and widespread competition atmosphere in the localities.

Since 2021, the province has mobilized nearly 40 billion VND from the people and the community, 36.4 hectares of land of all kinds and more than 35,000 working days to carry out public works, contributing to speed up new style rural building progress.

So far, the whole province has 148 out of182 communes that meet the standards of new style rural areas; 43 communes recognized as advanced new style rural areas; 1 commune as exemplary new style rural area; 241 villages as exemplary new style rural areas.

Many models of "exemplary new style rural villages" have been formed to help build up highlight in village landscape, "bright, green, clean and beautiful" village roads and alleys.
