150 outstanding ethnic examples honored

BAC GIANG - On November 30, the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee organized the first conference to honor advanced examples in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2023.

Bac Giang has more than 1.8 million people, of which ethnic minorities account for more than 14.6 percent with 45 ethnic groups. The ethnic minorities mainly reside in mountainous, remote and extremely difficult areas but are always united and strive to realize local goals. In recent times, there are many outstanding ethnic individuals and collectives at all fields among ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of Bac Giang province.

Sharing at the conference, some delegates mentioned their experiences in implementing emulation work among ethnic minorities; promoting the value of national cultural identity; teaching methods to achieve high results for students in ethnic minority areas; developing collective economy; building a great national unity bloc; ensuring security and order and improving the effectiveness of propaganda.

On this occasion, the provincial leaders praised, congratulated and acknowledged the contributions of ethnic minorities and mountainous people in general and especially the 150 typical advanced collectives and individuals who were honored for the development of Bac Giang province.

The Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 40 groups and individuals.

On the same day, 110 collectives and individuals were honored with the Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Ethnic Committee. The Ethnic Board presented gifts to 23 prestigious people while the Provincial Study Promotion Fund gifted to 13 outstanding ethnic minority students.
