2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III tournament opens in Bac Ninh
The draw placed Vietnam, seeded sixth, in Group A at the 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III tournament alongside Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. Group B comprises Indonesia, Syria, Jordan, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia.
The 2025 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III tournament began on July 14 in the northern province of Bac Ninh, drawing nearly 50 players, coaches, and team members from nine countries vying for three promotion spots to Group II in 2026.

Co-hosted by the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF), the International Tennis Federation, and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event runs through July 19 and pulled in nearly 1,000 spectators to its opening ceremony.

In his opening speech, VTF Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Hong Son described the tournament as a pivotal moment for Vietnamese tennis to shine on the global stage, in line with the country’s broader goals of global integration outlined in the Politburo’s Resolution No. 59.
Beyond high-level competition, he said, the event serves as a platform for cultural diplomacy, projecting Vietnam as a hospitable host.
