Smooth traffic flow on Bac Ninh’s first and largest cable-stayed bridge
BAC NINH – The Dong Viet Bridge and its connecting roads, located in Canh Thuy ward and Dong Viet commune (Bac Ninh province) and extending into part of Hai Duong province (now Hai Phong city), have officially opened to traffic, facilitating travel for local residents and vehicles.

Construction of the bridge and approach roads began in June 2022 with a total investment of nearly 1.5 trillion VND from the provincial budget. |

The project was built by a consortium comprising Thuan An Construction and Trading Development JSC, Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Co., Ltd., and 168 Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Investment JSC. |

The project’s investor is Bac Ninh Province’s Project Management Board No. 1 for transport and agricultural infrastructure. |

According to the design, the bridge spans more than 811 metres with a deck width of 23.5 metres. Built across the Thuong River, it connects Bac Ninh province with Hai Phong city. This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Ninh. |

The approach roads on both sides are nearly 7 km long, designed as class II delta roads with a roadbed width of 22 metres and pavement width of 21.5 metres. |
