Updated: 15:05, 14/07/2025

BAC NINH- The final round of the 2nd Bac Ninh Robocon Contest in 2025 themed “For a Green Bac Ninh” was organised on July 12.

This year contest drew 434 teams competing in 4 groups, increasing 100 teams compared to the previous tournament.

Teams in group D prepare for competition.

Of which, there were 122 teams in group A (for primary school students), 141 teams in group B (for secondary students), 124 teams in group C (for high school students) and 47 teams in group D (aged from 9 to 22 with no restrictions on programming platforms or robot assembly equipment).

At the finale, 16 teams in each group competed at the categories of programming, assembling and running robots on real sand table.

Each team had to programme their robots to run autonomously without remote control, independently handle the situations and complete the missions. This is a breakthrough highlight, which is completely distinct from former traditional robotic contests.

Besides, this year contest pioneered to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into the competition contents for secondary students, in which robots were programmed to use camera for image recognition, situation analysis and smart task performance.

With the themed “For a green Bac Ninh”, the contest is not only a technical playground but it also strongly promotes communication activity and inspire the community to actively engage in environment protection, aiming to build a green and sustainable community.

Finally, 40 outstanding teams were awarded first, second and third prizes (with gold, silver and bronze medals) and consolation prizes.

Particularly, 4 first prizes came to Jupiter – SDQ (from Nam Hong primary school in group A), team 3 (from Danh Thang secondary school in group B), GG_BG (from Son Dong High School No 1 in group C) and DTCN7 (from Vietnam-Korea College of Technology in group D).

Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Mai Son and General Secretary of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations Nguyen Quyet Chien give first prizes to winning teams.

The first prize winners were awarded certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and nominated to be awarded Creative Youth Badge by Vietnam Central Youth Union.

Besides, the Organising Board awarded certificate of merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals, who gained excellent achievements in communicating and organising the contest.
