Twenty-seven companies were awarded certification as Vietnam’s outstanding suppliers in sectors including mechanical engineering, electronics and IT, textiles and footwear, food processing and other industries at a ceremony held in Hanoi on January 29.

The event, organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), drew more than 200 delegates representing ministries, localities, major corporations, supporting industries, leading suppliers, trade promotion organisations and the media.

Speaking at the ceremony, VCCI Chairman Ho Sy Hung said the programme was not only an occasion to honour exemplary suppliers but also carried strategic significance in implementing the Party and State’s major policies on building a strong Vietnamese business community with regional and global competitiveness.

Amid the ongoing restructuring of global supply chains, Vietnamese suppliers must move beyond the role of simple production links to become strategic partners with technological capability, innovation capacity and value-chain governance aligned with sustainable development, he stressed.

Supporting industries expected to become key link in supply chains

The presence of multinationals like Samsung, Canon, Intel, and Bosch has provided a strong boost. These giants bring not only investment or technology but also stringent quality and management standards, compelling Vietnam’s enterprises operating in supporting industries to upgrade themselves.
