Ha Noi connects supply and demand of input materials for handicraft industry with Northern provinces

Updated: 08:47, 03/08/2025

The Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade on August 2 held a conference on connecting supply and demand of input materials for the handicraft industry between Ha Noi and the Northern provinces.

In his opening speech at the conference, Vuong Dinh Thanh, Deputy Director of the Ha Noi Centre for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting under the Ha Noi Department of Industry and Trade emphasised that in recent times, the development of handicraft products in Ha Noi has had many positive changes in the direction of improving product quality and design, and building brands.

The ceramic industry has a great demand for input materials.

Some products have beautiful designs, good quality, and competitive advantages in the domestic and foreign markets, contributing to improving the competitiveness of handicraft products and boosting exports.

However, the development of handicraft products has not yet met the market's requirements, especially the export market, has not fully exploited the potential and value of the products, and lacks ideas for designing and developing new products, which is curently a common situation in craft villages.

In particular, the unstable supply of raw materials is one of the important reasons affecting handicraft production activities in the area.

Through the conference, businesses in Ha Noi and other provinces and cities met and sought partners to supply raw materials, process semi-finished and finished products in a stable, long-term, and quality manner.

Enterprises and craft village associations also signed cooperation agreements, connecting the supply and demand of input materials for the handicraft industry between Ha Noi and the northern provinces.

Also at the conference, the delegates introduced the potential and strengths of traditional industries, the demand for raw materials as well as solutions for sustainable development of production facilities and traditional craft villages.
