The ceremony was attended by Bui Van Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Van Linh, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee; Than Van Khoa, Permanent Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Bui Van Hanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and representatives from the General Directorate of Energy under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and relevant departments and sectors in the province.
The An Khanh-Bac Giang thermal power plant will be built with a total investment of 22.5 trillion VND (about 1 billion USD) on an area of nearly 90ha in Vu Xa commune, Luc Nam district.
The An Khanh-Bac Giang Thermal Power JSC has to date prepared enough investment and completed all necessary procedures for the implementation of the project. The plant has a designed capacity of 650 MW and is scheduled to generate commercial electricity in 2023.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Hai highlighted the significance of the project, affirming that it is vital to realise the targets set in the Resolution of the 18th Congress of the provincial Party Organisation.
The provincial authorities will create favourable conditions for the An Khanh-Bac Giang Thermal Power JSC to early complete and put the project into operation, Hai said.
The official also asked the People’s Committees of Luc Nam district and Vu Xa commune and relevant sectors to work closely with the company to accelerate land clearance and raise public awareness of the project’s importance.
The An Khanh-Bac Giang Thermal Power JSC and the local authorities need to coordinate in addressing difficulties and barriers, he stated, suggesting the company introduce more potential investors to the province in the coming time.
The local authorities will continue improving the province’s investment climate and facilitating business and production activities of enterprises operating in the province, he added.
On this occasion, the An Khanh-Bac Giang Thermal Power JSC presented 600 million VND to the provincial Fund for the Poor./.
