Updated: 09:19, 20/06/2018
(BGO) - Vice Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Duong Van Thai had a working session on 18 June with the provincial Industrial Zones Authority (IZA), leaders of some provincial departments, sectors, localities and infrastructure investors on situations of infrastructure investment and industrial parks (IPs) management in Bac Giang province.

A view at the meeting.

Currently, the province is home to 6 IPs covering a total area of 1,322 hectares, which have been invested from the state budget and calling for investment. A number of IPs have been built on schedule attracting thousands of enterprises to rent land for production and trading with a high rate of occupancy.

However, almost IPs have not been completed with land clearance. Particularly, some IPs are constructed off schedule. For example, in Van Trung IP, only 52 out of 112.4 hectares (49 percent) of the area invested by S&G Co., Ltd have been leveled, 0.6 kilometers of pipes for clean water supply and more than 2 kilometers for rainwater drainage have been assembled while the occupancy rate is only at 3.5 percent.

During the discussion, the representatives of IZA and enterprises called the districts and city to accelerate land clearance progress to provide cleared lands for the investors to build infrastructure as the approved planning. The PPC was requested to allocate funds for the projects of sewage treatment station and the internal traffic road system in the northern zone of Song Khe- Noi Hoang IP.

In his conclusion, PPC Vice Chairman Duong Van Thai appreciated the efforts of the provincial departments, sectors, districts and the city in the construction of the IPs in the province. Nevertheless, some areas in many IPs have not been cleared badly affecting the investment climate.

Duong Van Thai requested the investors to keep their close coordination with IZA, local government and related departments and sectors to speed up the projects’ progress. The districts and city were required to review and inspect the households who have not handed over the land; thereby mobilizing local people and having a plan on inventory and land expropriation or forcing to complete land clearance.

It is necessary to strengthen state management of land and environment protection; pay attention to the operation of enterprises and workers’ lives to promptly handle arising obstacles and facilitate their production conditions like electricity supply and traffic roads. Regarding the specific recommendations and questions, the PPC Vice Chairman assigned the related agencies to review and give their answers of solutions in the soonest time.
