Bac Giang aims to turn services sector into economic spearhead
BAC GIANG - The Standing Board of the provincial Party recently issued a resolution on developing key services in the 2024-2030 period, which is expected to transform services into a spearhead economic sector and a key driver of the province's socio-economic development.
Viet Yen township is home to the largest number of industrial zones and a significant workforce. On March 25, 2021, the Standing Board of the district Party Committee issued Resolution No. 55-NQ/HU, focusing on service development from 2021 to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

To date, progress has been substantial, with the completion of the first phase of a golf course, the establishment of a shopping center, and the construction of two hotels rated three to five stars. The service sector’s production value has increased by an average of 15% per year.
Recognizing the need for diverse funding sources, especially non-state capital, the township People’s Committee has attracted investment to five service projects in the Cho Moi Commercial Residential Area and Zone B in the Dinh Tram-Sen Ho Urban Area; and a trade and service complex in the Nenh Town New Urban Area.

Leveraging available land with completed infrastructure, the local administration is focusing on attracting projects in education, trade, services and residential areas, aiming to establish high-end entertainment areas, casino services complexes, and areas providing logistics and modern services.
There are plans to enhance cultural and historical tourism, including the development of the provincial-level Tien Son-Van Ha tourist area and a pedestrian street with night economy services in Bich Dong ward.
In Bac Giang city, following the municipal Party Committee’s Resolution No. 371, the municipal authorities have worked to lure investment in building trade infrastructure.
Efforts include diversifying distribution channels, accelerating the logistics center project at the International Logistics Centre in Song Khe commune, and developing wholesale markets.
The city also plans to establish vibrant commercial streets in Tran Phu, Le Loi, Hoang Van Thu, Ngo Quyen and Tran Nguye Han wards; and areas for dining, shopping, and night entertainment and art performance.
By 2025, Bac Giang city aims to attract investment in building 5-8 shopping centers, supermarkets, cultural centers, exhibition areas, logistics hubs, and wholesale markets.

On October 11, 2024, the provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 371-NQ/TU, which outlines strategies for service sector growth from 2024 to 2030, fully tapping the province's potential and advantages as well as the unique characteristics of each locality.
By 2030, Bac Giang strives for an average annual service growth rate of approximately 11%, with the sector accounting for 24-25% of the provincial GRDP.
It also plans to develop at least one modern shopping center in every city and township. All industrial zones are set to have concentrated service areas.
Resolution 371 is seen as a "fresh breeze" to significantly boost the development of services across the province.
