Bac Giang athlete Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy honored
The district leader presented the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee together with a cash reward of 5 million VND (214 USD) to athlete Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, praising her efforts to bring the glory to the nation.

Also, he hoped that the Bac Giang athlete will continue training, developing her ability in competition to achieve high results and become a shining example for the younger generation. On this occasion, Ngoc Chau Commune People's Committee also gave gifts to the martial artist.
Previously, Thu Thuy won the Gold Medal in the 60 kg weight category at the 2023 World Wushu Championship taking place from November 18 to 20, 2023 in the US.
13 members of the Vietnamese Wushu team competed in 2 contents including: Taolu (performance) with 22 events for men and women; sanda (fighting) with 7 weight classes from 48 kg to 75 kg (for both men and women) under knockout format.
After consecutively winning against 3 opponents in the qualifying round, Thuy defeated Indonesian player Roshibina Devi Naorem with a score of 2- 0 in the final match on November 21 (Vietnam time) and won her first ever gold medal at the world championship.
Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy (born 1998) has practiced martial arts since she was 10 years old. She is an excellent athlete of Vietnamese Wushu who has participated and won many medals in major domestic, regional and international tournaments. Coaches assess that Thuy possesses many elements of a talented athlete, including perfect technique, outstanding physical strength, a strong will to compete and a spirit of hard training.
