Bac Giang brings warm Tet to policy beneficiaries and poor families

(BGO) – According to the Bac Giang provincial Fatherland Front’s Committee and Department of Labor, War Invalid and Social Affair, the province presented 136,323 Tet gifts to the social policy beneficiaries and impoverished families in the localities on the Lunar New Year occasion, totally worth nearly 54.7 billion VND (2.4 million USD).

Concretely, 78,841 packages were gifted to the social policy beneficiaries, valued at nearly 36.6 billion VND (1.6 million USD) including 35,742 gifts from the Government President (worth over 10.7 billion VND – 471,000 USD); 35,782 gifts from the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (valued at 17.891 billion VND – 787,000 USD) and 7,317 packages from the districts, communes and social organizations (worth over 8 billion VND – 352,100 USD).

Meanwhile, 57,482 Tet gifts were delivered to the poor, the families near the poverty line and households with special difficult circumstances, totally worth 18 billion VND (792,300 USD). In addition, more than 4,000 material sets were presented to them like clothes, warm blanket, confections, Banh Chung and rice.

The quantity of this year’s gift was 36 percent higher than last year figure. On the occasion of 2018 Lunar New Year, the Tet gift packages were presented to 100 percent of social policy beneficiaries, families of national contributors, poor households, 41 percent of families near the poverty line in the province.
