Bac Giang Cheo Theatre bags 2 gold, 2 silver medals at Hanoi Open Stage Festival
BAC GIANG- Bac Giang Cheo Theatre bagged 2 gold and 2 silver medals at Hanoi Open Stage Festival 2024, which took place from 1 to 9 November.
Bac Giang Cheo Theatre participated in the festival with the play “Song ven do” (Uptown waves) directed by the people’s artist Ta Quang Lam, Director of Bac Giang Theatre based on the script of author Nguyen Duc Minh (Hanoi).

The Cheo play lasting for 120 minutes about the story of a family in a suburban area delivered the message: Despite any social changes or development, it is essential to preserve the traditional culture and virtue of Vietnamese people that is nurturing the family love and intimate brotherhood.
The artists, actors and actresses had an emotional and uplifting performance, which was greatly cheered by the audiences and highly evaluated by the judges. Particularly, artists Nguyen Van Duoc and Nguyen Ba Chung were awarded gold medals while artists Tran Thi Thuy and Nguyen Viet Hang bagged a silver medal.
Hanoi Open Stage Festival 2024 was organised by the Vietnam Association of Stage Artists in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. The Festival lured participation of 12 big art troupes nationwide with new plays in the forms of cheo, tuong (classical drama), cai luong (reformed theatre), drama and puppet.

The Organising Board awarded 3 gold medals to the plays titled “Dai tuong Vo Nguyen Giap” (General Vo Nguyen Giap) by the Army Cheo Theatre, “Khoang trong” (The Void) by Hanoi Drama Theatre and “Hoang de co lau” (The Emperor of the reed flag) by Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre. Besides, 27 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 13 prizes were awarded to excellent actors and actresses.
This is a good opportunity for the art troupes to exchange and learn experience in art creativity to create many high-quality masterpieces to serve audiences in the new stage.

A salt-making field, dating back about 2,000 years of ancient Sa Huynh people, has been discovered in Duc Pho commune, the central province of Quang Ngai, according to Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai General Museum Doan Ngoc Khoi.
