Bac Giang city boosts training linkages, job creation for workers

(BGO) - In recent years, the Party Committee and authorities of Bac Giang city have paid much attention to vocational training and job creation for workers contributing to promoting socio-economic development and ensuring social security.

Improving quality of human resources

Bac Giang city currently has 10 vocational training establishments, including two colleges, five intermediate schools, ICO International Vocational Education Center and A Dong Trading - Service and Training Co., Ltd. The city People's Committee has focused on directing the development and improvement of the human resources quality to meet the requirements in the new period.

In the past two years, the local vocational education institutions have enrolled and trained 4,855 students, exceeding the set plan. Workers with college and intermediate degrees accounted for nearly 42%, while the rest have experienced primary and regular training. Currently, the rate of trained workers in the city is 80%.

The city’s vocational education work has seen many positive changes, with improved quality and efficiency. Trained human resources are recognized for their high skills and technical workers are abundant, ensuring the fast and sustainable development of the city.

The Vietnam - Korea College of Technology currently has more than 3,500 students. The school has cooperated with many businesses inside and outside the province to improve the efficiency of training and generate jobs for students after graduating. As a result, the percentage of graduates obtaining jobs reaches over 92%. In 2022, the school signed a cooperation agreement on developing integrated education with the Ho Chi Minh City-based SEAMEO Regional Center for Lifelong Learning in Vietnam.

The Bac Giang College of Industrial Techniques has partnered with more than 100 domestic and foreign enterprises to create conditions for students to participate in internships and get jobs after graduation.

Vocational training associated with job creation

The cooperation between vocational training institutes and enterprises in training and job generation for graduates has been focused. As a result, 90% of college and intermediate school graduates and 80% of those experiencing elementary and regular training have obtained suitable jobs.

In order to improve the quality of human resources, authorities at all levels and relevant agencies in the city have enhanced the dissemination of the meaning and importance of the vocational education quality improvement to human resources development in service of the national industrialization and modernization. They have coordinated with relevant units to make a plan on developing and restructuring the network of vocational training establishments.

Bac Giang city has worked to attract secondary school graduates to learn vocational skills at local vocational training establishments; improved the quality of short-term, medium-term and long-term forecasting of human resources, employment and training demands by fields, occupations and training levels; and formed a database on labor market supply and demand.

At the same time, it has improved the efficiency of attracting investment projects in the city, especially those creating jobs for many workers, especially high-skilled ones, to increases demand for vocational training.

The city has also supported enterprises to engage in vocational training and human resources development activities; continued to attract and diversify State budget and non-budget investment sources for vocational education; promoted the mobilization of social resources for the field towards a learning society; and stepped up work-study models for employees in enterprises.

Enterprises have been also encouraged to invest in building facilities, purchasing equipment, developing training programs, and training teachers and managers. The province has well implemented the State's mechanisms and policies on encouraging the socialization of vocational education development.
