Bac Giang delegation ranks 1st at 2023 National Outstanding Jujitsu Athletes Championship
The Championship was jointly held by Vietnam Jujitsu Federation and the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Dong Nai province at Dong Nai Province Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament was attended by 130 athletes from 16 delegations of the provinces, cities and agencies nationwide who competed at 34 events of different weight categories.

Bac Giang delegation had total 10 athletes (including 6 male and 4 female athletes) competing at 24 events. At the finales, the athletes of Bac Giang competed with many strong opponents from the provinces of Dong Nai, Thai Binh and Thanh Hoa.
At the end, Bac Giang delegation won total 15 medals including 16 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronzes, ranking 1st in the entire delegation. It was followed by Hanoi delegation with 5 golds, 3 silvers and 7 bronzes and the delegation the People’s Public Security with 5 golds, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Jujitsu is a combination of different marital arts with a special feature of close competition and strong combat applying rules and technique of other marital arts. Jujitsu techniques include, but not limited to joint locks, chokeholds, strikes, grappling, throwing, and takedowns of marital art and wrestling. Jujitsu has been imported to Vietnam for 10 years. The Jujitsu team of Bac Giang province was established in October 2021.
The Championship gave an opportunity for the athletes to compete and learn from each other to improve their techniques, qualification and experience while strengthening solidarity. Besides, it helped to select outstanding athletes to the national team to compete at international tournaments in 2024.
