In early December 2019, Green Dream Education and Experience Company Limited (Green Dream) invested in the orchard experimental tour in Thanh Hai commune. Now, it has 5 buffalo carts (each carries about 16 persons) to take the visitors to the fruit orchards, harvest and buy the fruits from the farmers. Mobilization of various sources
According to Vice Chairman of Son Dong district People’s Committee Giap Van Tam, though the district owns huge potential to develop the CBT, there are many difficulties ahead such as limited investment for tourism (restaurant, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, experience... ) and low awareness about the community tourism from a part of the locals.
Now, some stilt houses in Ven village invested by Than Truong Cooperative are capable of serving the meals for 300 – 400 visitors at once and providing home stay for 80 persons. At first stage of operation, the site sometimes welcomes 2,000 – 3,000 visitors per day. |
Under the Project “Developing the CBT in Bac Giang province in the period 2014 - 2020”, the total revenue from CBT is estimated at 10 billion VND (431.000 USD) per year. The province strives to welcome 20,000 tourist arrivals in 2020 including 2,000 foreigners.
In late 2019, the People’s Committee in Bac Giang province (PPC) approved the Plan to support the CBT in 2019 – 2020 at Na O village, Ven village and fruit orchards in Luc Ngan district which focused on building, managing, training and developing the CBT models; conducting survey, learning experiences from other provincies; introducing, promoting and connecting the tours with infrastructure facilitation.
Noticeably, the PPC recognized Ven village in Xuan Luong commune as provincial CBT site in October 2019 while Na O village CBT site will be recognized in second quarter in 2020.
The Vice Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Van Dung said the Department will continue hiring the consultant to learn and develop the experience from other localities to promote the CBT in Ven, Na O villages and several fruit areas in Luc Ngan district with potential of CBT development.
Also, the communication should be accelerated to enhance the local awareness about CBT development to help the natives clearly understand the benefit then invest in and take advantages from the model.
It is necessary for the local authority to well promote and link to the travel agencies and enterprises while creating the signature tourism products to draw the visitors and boost up the CBT growth.
