Bac Giang DOFA extends New Year greeting to KFHI

(BGO)- Ahead the New Year 2022, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Bac Giang province (DOFA) on December 10 visited to extend New Year greetings to Korean Food and Hungry International (KFHI) at Samsung Hope School in Hiep Hoa district. DOFA Vice Director Nguyen Quang Tuan led the delegation.

At his visit, Nguyen Quang Tuan extended New Year greetings to KFHI’s staff and he was informed the results gained by the organization in 2021 as well as difficulties and obstacles facing them during operating in the province especially amid Covid-19 pandemic.

He stressed, DOFA will support and accompany non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in carrying out activities in Bac Giang while sharing with their difficulties in current Covid-19 circumstances. Besides, he expected NGOs would continue paying attention and granting aids to Bac Giang province contributing to socio-economic development of the province.

So far, KFHI has implemented 2 projects in the province including “improving school facilities in Tho Xuong ward, Bac Giang city” project worth about 2 billion VND (87,400 USD) funded by Woori Bank (Korea) with the people’s committee of Bac Giang city as the aid owner. This project was finished in 2017 contributing to completing facilities and study environment for pre-school children.

Besides, KFHI launched the project “building latrines and providing water filtration system for primary and secondary schools in Bac Giang province” worth about 6 billion VND (262,236 USD) funded by Samsung Electronics Vietnam with the Department of Education and Training as the aid owner scheduled from November to December 2017.

Bac Giang DOFA visits and extends New Year greetings to KFHI at “Samsung Hope School” project site in Hiep Hoa district.

“Samsung Hope School” project was launched in 2019 in Hiep Hoa district valued at some 19 billion VND (850,000 USD) donated by Samsung Electronics Vietnam. The project includes facility improvement and construction, equipment purchasing and management cost. The project activities will be carried out within 10 years. This school will be a place for extracurricular activities, cultural exchanges, health checkups and giving gifts to about 300 local students who are in difficult circumstances.

KFHI and Samsung regularly carry out inspections and information exchange with DOFA to agree upon the contents in the signed Memorandum of Understanding and carry out the project.
