Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the road connecting provincial road 293, national highway 17 and expanded Dong Son bridge.

The Project was approved by the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee in May 2022 with total investment of 571.2 billion VND (24.4 million USD). The project was invested by the Provincial Management Board for Transport and Agricultural Construction Investment Project and started on October 30, 2022.

The Project was divided into 4 construction and installation packages. Its starting point intersects with provincial road 293 in Bac Giang City while the ending point connects with national highway 17 in Tien Phong commune, Yen Dung district. The total route stretches 5.2 km.

It consisted of the expansion of Dong Son bridge on the downstream of Thuong River with total length of 356.9 m and cross section of 16 m. The bridge has a main span structure of prestressed reinforced concrete and a reinforced concrete deck.

After more than a year of active construction, so far, the Project has been completed and put into use 5 months ahead of the schedule, ensuring technical and aesthetic standards.

The road connecting provincial road 293 to national highway 17 and the expanded Dong Son bridge plays a crucial role and significance in promoting the socio-economic development of the province in general and Bac Giang City, Yen Dung district in particular.

Also, the Project helps reduce the vehicle traffic through the city center, gradually completes the urban planning of Bac Giang City, expands urban space and socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security and traffic safety.

Bac Giang strives to complete bridge and road connecting My An port - National Highway 31 - 1 before Lunar New Year
