Bac Giang plants more than 45,000 scattered trees

BAC GIANG - Carrying out the "Tree Planting Festival - Eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho" movement on the occasion of the 2024 New Year, the Year of the Dragon, since February 15, Bac Giang province has planted more than 45,000 scattered trees of all kinds.

According to the Forest Protection Department, to date, the localities in the province have planted more than 414 hectares of concentrated plantation forests (an increase of 24 hectares compared to the same period in 2023) and more than 202,000 scattered trees (an increase of more than 108,000 trees compared to last year).

The leaders of Bac Giang province and Tan Yen district join hands in planting trees.

By 2024, the whole province plans to grow 9,500 hectares of concentrated forests and 6.4 million scattered trees.

On February 19, in Viet Lap commune (Tan Yen), the People's Committee of Tan Yen district launched the "Tree Planting Festival" on 2024 Spring. The event was attended by members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

To well implement Uncle Ho's appeal, respond to the above mentioned movement and implement the program of planting 1 billion trees nationwide according to Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister, the district recommended each person, each home, each agency and organization in the district to take practical actions.

In 2024, the district targets to plant about 600,000 trees. Along with new planting, units also well organize tree caring and protection activities. After the launching ceremony, delegates participated in planting pine trees on the grounds of Phan Thu pagoda.
