Bac Giang strives to draw 1.2 million tourists in 2021

(BGO)- Due to impact of Covid-19 pandemic, the results of implementing the province’s tourism development targets in 2020 decreased compared to 2019. Particularly, the total number of tourists reached nearly 1 million, down 50 percent including 12,000 foreign visitors, fell by 58 percent. Revenue from tourism activities in the province dropped by 50 percent with 550 billion VND (23.7 million USD).

Bac Giang province strives to lure at least 1.2 million tourists in 2021 including about 17,000 foreign visitors.

To that end, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism provides timely recommendations to the provincial People’s Committee to implement a number of solutions such as comprehensive renovation with application of digital technologies and information infrastructure in tourism promotion, establishing new tours and tourism products, cooperating with enterprises in Bac Giang and other localities, accelerating progress and ensuring quality in recognition of the tourist sites, establishing tourism trademarks of each district and city, paying attention to training to improve quality of the human resources and effectively implementing the “dual goals” of the Central Government and the province.
