Bac Giang strives to improve provincial competitiveness index in 2019 and upcoming years

(BGO) – The People’s Committee in the northern province of Bac Giang has issued the Action Plan to improve the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) in 2019 and upcoming years.

The Plan sets the target to raise the PCI of Bac Giang province to top 15 provinces and cities across the nation by 2020 and recover the shortcomings in 4 factors with decreased points in 2018 including market integration, transparency, activeness and legal institutions.

The leaders of province, departments, sectors, the People’s Committee in the districts and city increase to meet and exchange with the enterprises and investors.

Besides, it aims to improve the score of 6 slightly increased factors in 2018 including land access, time cost, non-official cost, equal competitiveness, business support service, labor training.

The province also focuses on enhancing the score of key factors with huge impact on total PCI score, comprising of transparency, business support service, labor training, non-official cost.

To realize the set target, the Action Plan works out 6 tasks and solutions which are to increase the proactiveness and pioneer for the leaders of the province, departments, sectors and the People’s Committee in the districts and city; reinforce the leadership and instruction to prevent the corruption; reform the administrative procedure; support the enterprises and investors to access to the information and handle the difficulties to ensure the rights of business and equal chance to access to the source, investment and business opportunities for the enterprises; improve the quality of business and investment support services; accelerate communication and popularization.

Bac Giang’s PCI listed in good group

Vietnam’s industrial production index (IIP) in July was estimated to expand by 5.9% from the previous month and 9.7% compared to the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
