Bac Giang strives to make E- medical records as scheduled

(BGO) -  The Circular No.46/2018/TT-BYT stipulates the electronic medical records (E-medical record) to take effect since March 1, 2019, with a specific roadmap for each period. The Medical Sector in Bac Giang province has instructed the local health care facilities to actively implement the plan so as to meet the proposed schedule. 
Accordingly, the healthcare institutions classified at the first class or above proactively upgrade their IT infrastructure to apply E-medical records as regulated in the period of 2019 – 2023. In 2024 – 2028 period, all healthcare facilities nationwide must put E-medical records into use.

Bac Giang has two first-class facilities, namely the provincial General Hospital and the provincial Obstetric and Pediatric Hospital which will be completed the E-medical records before 2024.

The inspection result showed that the provincial medical facilities are not qualified with the criteria set in the Circular No.54/2017/TT-BYT dated on December 29,2017, about the IT application at the healthcare institutions under the Ministry of Health to build E-medical records.

To ensure the roadmap, the Department of Health instructed the parties to actively research the content, execution principles, legal basis; thoroughly review the IT infrastructure; make the plan and coordinate with the enterprises for implementation.

When applying the E-medical records, each patient will receive an identification code which provides the doctor with all data of medical history for upcoming treatment. Additionally, the sick people do not waste time on queuing while doctors and medical staff do not have to move between the different departments for testing result….
