Bac Giang supports businesses in recruiting workers, stabilizing production

Updated: 20:26, 13/07/2021
(BGO) - Overcoming difficulties in production and business due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, at this time, the operations of enterprises in Bac Giang province have been gradually recovering. However, many businesses are facing difficulties due to a shortage of human resources, especially unskilled workers.

Great demand but difficult to recruit

According to the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, currently 261 out of 341 enterprises in local industrial parks have resumed operations with 69,400 among total 167,000 employees.

A survey by the provincial Employment Service Center shows that in order to meet production plans and full fill orders, 122 enterprises have registered to recruit personnel for over 60,000 positions, mainly in the fields of apparel and electronics.

According to Hoang Van Thang, head of the Division of Labour and Employment under the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, despite meeting the requirements of pandemic prevention and control when welcoming workers back, in fact, it is difficult for businesses to recruit employees, especially unskilled workers as some are still quarantined and many are afraid of the epidemic spreading and do not want to return to work.

Returning to production from mid-June, Ha Bac Export Garment Joint Stock Company in Hong Thai commune (Viet Yen district) has now maintained stable jobs for 2,100 workers. To ensure both production and epidemic prevention, the company strictly applies the process of managing workers in the factory. Besides, it rearranges the production area and divide the meal time to fix the seats, ensuring a distance between the workers; while spraying disinfect once a day in the entire factory and canteen.

Just resuming production from the beginning of July, Taeyang Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd in the Dinh Tram Industrial Park has announced to recruit about 300 workers with monthly income from 6-9 million VND (260.7-391 USD) per person. It only requires health conditions and accepts providing vocational training after signing the contract. In particular, it covers the cost of PCR testing for workers once a week to ensure safety amid the pandemic. However, according to Nguyen Duy Nhat, who is in charge of personnel work, almost no workers came to apply. If this situation persists, it will be difficult for businesses to fulfill existing orders.

Online recruitment for epidemic prevention

To deal with this situation, the group supporting enterprises in removing labour-related difficulties under the provincial Steering Committee for restoring industrial production, business and trade activities is actively coordinating with districts and city in solving problems and helping businesses recruit workers.

Despite postponing the offline job fair due to the impact of the epidemic, in the role of connecting and assisting businesses in recruiting personnel, the provincial Employment Service Center still accepts recruitment registrations on its website and fanpage.

Recently, the center partnered with Fuhong Precision Component Co., Ltd. under Hong Hai Science and Technology Group to organise a session guiding how to fill in the application and experience a PCR test before signing contracts with nearly 200 employees interviewed online before.

Although recruitment is very urgent for many businesses, Nguyen Tien Coi, Director of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, said that recruitment activities still need to strictly comply with regulations on epidemic prevention and control, ensuring safety and stability when enterprises resume production.

The department will continue to grasp needs, organize online connections or support enterprises in recruiting workers via mobile job bazaars; and coordinate with relevant sectors, localities and businesses to organize screening testing for applicants and guide them to observe epidemic prevention measures. At the same time, it also joins hands in closely inspecting and supervising the prevention and control of Covid-19 at enterprises to ensure the safety and health of workers and help businesses stabilize production.
